The Cladding Power Stripper (CPS) is a critical passive component designed for high-power fiber laser and fiber amplifier systems, where residual cladding light must be safely removed to protect downstream optical components. During pump–signal coupling in double-clad fibers, a portion of the pump light cannot be fully absorbed and may leak into the cladding, especially at pump wavelengths such as 793 nm, 808 nm, 915 nm, 940 nm, and 976 nm. This unwanted cladding power can generate heat, degrade laser performance, or cause severe damage to subsequent optical devices if not properly managed.

The Cladding Power Stripper (CPS) is a critical passive component designed for high-power fiber laser and fiber amplifier systems, where residual cladding light must be safely removed to protect downstream optical components. The CPS efficiently strips and dissipates residual cladding power, whether it is unabsorbed pump light or pump light reflected back from the inner cladding. By ensuring that the signal propagating in the fiber core remains unaffected, the device maintains stable output performance, including signal power, beam quality (M²), and overall system reliability.
