OM5 Multimode Cables

OM5 Multimode Cables are the latest generation of laser-optimized multimode fibers, representing the first standardized Wideband Multimode Fiber (WBMMF) designed for high-bandwidth, short-to-medium-reach data transmission. Featuring a distinctive lime green jacket and a 50/125 µm core/cladding structure, OM5 cables enable Shortwave Wavelength Division Multiplexing (SWDM), allowing multiple wavelengths (typically 850-950nm) to be transmitted over a single fiber pair. This technology effectively quadruples data capacity, enabling high-speed transmission such as 100GbE, 400GbE, and beyond, while significantly reducing fiber count, crosstalk, and physical footprint within pathways.
