Fiber Ferrules & Sleeves
Fiber Ferrules and Sleeves are the core precision alignment components within fiber optic connectors, engineered to achieve and maintain perfect optical coupling between fiber cores. The ferrule, typically made of ceramic, polymer, or stainless steel, features a central micro-hole that secures and centers the bare fiber end. The sleeve, often crafted from phosphor bronze, ceramic, or polymer, provides the precise split-tube alignment channel into which two ferrules mate. Widely used in all types of simplex, duplex, and multi-fiber connectors such as LC, SC, FC, and MTP/MPO, their sub-micron precision and durable design are essential for minimizing insertion loss, maximizing return loss, and ensuring reliable, low-reflection signal transmission across every connection point in the network.
