Single Fiber DWDM Mux Demux, Side-B
The Single Fiber DWDM Mux Demux, Side-B, is a device used in Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) systems that allows the transmission and reception of multiple optical signals over a single optical fiber. A single fiber system uses just one fiber for both transmitting and receiving signals, reducing infrastructure costs and simplifying deployment. DWDM technology increases bandwidth by enabling multiple optical signals of different wavelengths (or channels) to be transmitted simultaneously over the same fiber. The Mux (multiplexer) combines multiple wavelengths (channels) from different sources and transmits them over a single optical fiber. The Demux (demultiplexer) receives the multiplexed signal and separates it into individual wavelengths (channels), directing each to the appropriate receiver. Side-B refers to one end of the single fiber link, where the device is typically responsible for demultiplexing incoming signals and multiplexing outgoing signals.
