Corning’s SMF-28® ULL optical fiber portfolio has the lowest-loss 80µm² terrestrial-grade fibers available in the market – with millions of kilometers sold and deployed worldwide in the harshest environments and most demanding terrestrial core networks.
Compliant to ITU-T G.654.C, this ultra-low-loss fiber can be leveraged to extend network span lengths, skip amplification sites, upgrade to faster bit rates, add network components for improved flexibility, and lengthen the distance between regenerators.
Ultra-low-loss optical fiber allows carriers and cloud operators to extend optical reach at very high data rates and makes networks scalable for higher capacities as the demand for bandwidth continues to grow.
All products in the SMF-28 ULL fiber portfolio are also available in a smaller 200μm outer diameter for use in high-density cable designs. SMF-28 ULL fiber, compliant to G.654.C, is also available with advanced bend capability, meeting the fiber macrobend loss requirements of the ITU-T G.657.A1 standard.
